Riverview's 8th Anniversary Dinner
Riverview's 8th Anniversary Dinner
Riverview was founded in 2008, and our story is actually quite amazing. A group of people including our pastors Rob & Becky Neuschwander prayed over the Community Building, praying for God to make a way for them to be able to build a church in Kalama, WA. They had zero funds and nearly no where to begin. Fast forward eight years and we now own our own building, have been responsible for many mission trips to places such as Haiti, Uganda, and many parts of Europe. We have had a huge impact in the youth and children in our community. And have grown in many other ministries such as Thirst which is a worship night every third Friday of each month. We appreciated everyone who attended our celebratory dinner to honor our many pastors, staff, and the amazing volunteers.

Ignite is BACK!
Ignite is BACK!
After an extended winter break the youth group is back to
regular schedule. Last Wednesday we had about 45 teenagers packing out the sanctuary
playing games, singing songs, and hearing one of our youth pastors, Matt Kmetz,
preach about how Zacchaeus climbed a tree to get a chance to see Jesus pass by.
It was a great first club of the new year and we are excited to see God move in
the next generation. The youth group is planning there annual trip to a conference
in Walla Walla. The trip is $120 per person (ages 12-18) and will be a 3 day
trip from March 2nd-4th. For more details, contact Matt
Kmetz or Zack Gonzales.

Children's Classroom Shakeup
Children’s Classroom Shakeup
Entering the new year we decided to move around some of our
classrooms. The nursery has moved from the north end of the portable into the
church in the room closest to the front door. This will make it more convenient
for mothers with young babies to go back and forth between their young ones and
the service. The tree fort will still be used during the Wednesday night
programming being provided during men’s and women’s bible study times. The 2-5
room will remain where it is across the hall from the bathrooms. The main room
in the portable will be used for ages 6 through 10. Once our children turn 11
they will get to join youth pastors Zack
Gonzales and Matt Kmetz up front in the youth section. This will open up the
room that used to be the nursery for a church office. Please bear with us as we
work to make this transition as smooth and simple as possible for everyone
involved. Feel free to introduce yourself to Kayla Palmer, our new children’s
pastor, as she is working on improvements to the children’s ministry.

Plowing On Through
Plowing On Through
Our parking lot is plowed (with a big thanks to Greg Zilke)! Tired of being cooped up and
ready to get back to all of the wonderful ministries at Riverview Community
Church? Maybe you are like others and are ready to get back into the routine
but aren’t sure how you will go about parking at the church. No need to worry
about that now. All three of our main parking areas have been plowed, the
sidewalks salted, and the deck cleared off. Snow isn’t going to stop us from
meeting this week! Ignite, men’s bible study, women’s bible study, AA, and primetime
will all be up and going this week. Our winter wonderland was fun but we can’t
wait to get this show back on the road!
