Thirst is Underway!

Kalama is now the place to be on a Friday night. The Opening Night of Thirst saw between 130-150 people coming in and out of RiverView to enjoy a coffee, play a game of pool, sit on the deck and enjoy the gorgeous view, hang out, and listen to some AWESOME live music. Our Opening Night featured Mikey Moore, Caleb Ray, and the RiverView Worship Band who are all amazingly talented musicians that we'll definitely be inviting back.
Our second night of Thirst was just as much fun as the first and featured Jim Bennett & the RiverView Worship Band.
If you haven't had the chance to make it out for Thirst yet, it's an excellent drug and alcohol free place to hang out with friends and/or family on a Friday night. Free of charge and taking place every Friday from 6:00-10:00 (doors open and the prayer room is available at 5:30pm). There's game tables, live music, coffee and snacks, and outdoor seating overlooking a beautiful view of the Columbia River. Thirst is a part of RiverView Community Church, 6325 Old Pacific Hwy S, Kalama WA 98625. To stay caught up on all things Thirst and see our upcoming live entertainment, like our Thirst Facebook Page.

Our New Outreach Thirst Is Coming...Learn How You Can Be Involved

First off: What Is Thirst?
An intimate meeting place that was birthed in prayer and continues prayer throughout the day preparing volunteers for encounters with people to cultivate new and deepening relationships that allow for the loved to give love. Offering different worship teams and solo artists, creating a culture of worship and a place to encounter God in a corporate worship setting, outside of the church schedule and time constraints thus allowing for the holy spirit to move freely.
Thirst will open on Friday, June 17th, 2016. We will offer a coffee house venue with live music every Friday night from 5:30-10:00pm available to the Kalama community and surrounding areas. Our building will have a deck overlooking the Columbia river for outdoor seating and will have indoor seating available as well. We have a balcony with pool, ping pong, wi-fi, and video game systems available. Free to all as a family friendly, drug and alcohol free place to connect.

Where Can I Volunteer?
In order for this outreach ministry to run successfully, it's going to take many hands. We're going to need between 2-4 volunteers to help set up the room on Friday evenings and 2-4 volunteers to help clean up at the end of the evening. One prayer leader to lead prayer meetings, teach prayer evangelism, and teach new prayer leaders. Prayer Volunteers who will pray throughout the day, meet new people, create deeper relationships within the church body, and be available to pray for people throughout the night. We will need a music sound person to run the sound board. Lastly, for our coffee shop, we will need an overall manager and 1-2 volunteers to run the coffee shop on Friday evenings. If any of these things interest you, you can send along an email to kalamariverview@gmail.com, and someone will be in touch. We can use volunteers that will be able to make it consistently every Friday and also volunteers that can commit to a certain number of Fridays a month.

How Can I Provide Financial Support?
The goal is that over time, the coffee shop will cover its own expenses and bands will come in and play for exposure. However at this early stage, we have a lot of expenses to get this ministry off the ground: a digital sound board, espresso machine & coffee shop materials, and more. Our worship Pastor, Anja Shoun, has also passed along her cleaning business in order to fully serve the Lord in ministry and could use financial support in helping to meet her monthly living expenses. Any support is tax deductible and can be given through PayPal on our website by clicking here.
